About the Author
Mary McNaughton is a writer, nurse practitioner, and speaker on health issues. She has spent time in Central America providing health care to help fight poverty and disease. In addition to her nurse practitioner certification, she has degrees in Nursing and Education. Her interests include watercolor painting, drawing, hiking, golfing, and of course, writing.

As a noted writer, the memories of her childhood laid the foundation of the book. As she puts it: “My personal past is littered with instances of neglect and unwelcomes. I wanted to go beyond those memories and explore the desire for recognition, ambition, and challenges that my childhood created in me.”
