Learn How Love Outweighs Wealth in Mary McNaughton’s New Book

The perfect life is hard to come by. The chances of excelling in all areas –looks, love, wealth, education– are minimal. When Meg Newport, in Mary McNaughton’s exciting tale entitled “Sin of Ambition,” was offered the chance to a perfect life, there was no holding back. All she ever wanted was to not miss out on anything.
She has initially been disfigured as a result of burns from her childhood. When Billionaire hotel owners discovered the determination in Meg to succeed, they offered to pay for her reconstructive surgery and helped her achieve a quality education. She was also gifted with a wealthy husband, all of which equated to a seemingly perfect life anyone could ever dream of. However, her goals and perseverance for more success began to destroy her marriage, family, and friends. Just as she thought she was already on top of the world, loss and alienation came as a shock. Meg then discovers a new world for her to explore, one where she learns to value love more than wealth.
The plot is enthralling, and McNaughton successfully presents the story by playing with a dual character of Meg, a lonely girl who hopes for a better life and an ambitious businesswoman who will do anything for wealth, even when it means putting her family and relationships at stake.
The book, in its entirety, revolves around the protagonist’s determination for success and the importance of education. The author has successfully detailed how success in life is still possible even after life’s constant adversities: poverty, alienation, physical disfigurement, and rejection. With a promise that the story provides a powerful message about living a life motivated by love, this book will teach readers that there is no perfect life, only a meaningful one.

About the Author
Mary McNaughton is a writer, nurse practitioner, and speaker on health issues. She has spent time in Central America providing health care to help fight poverty and disease. In addition to her nurse practitioner certification, she has degrees in Nursing and Education. Her interests include watercolor painting, drawing, hiking, golfing, and of course, writing.

As a noted writer, the memories of her childhood laid the foundation of the book. As she puts it: “My personal past is littered with instances of neglect and unwelcomes. I wanted to go beyond those memories and explore the desire for recognition, ambition, and challenges that my childhood created in me.”
