In this book, the protagonist, Jenny, lives in the land where women are expected to follow the customary laws set by the tribes, which evidently favors men. Women are destined to be married off even after they were born. They were expected to perform conjugal obligations for their husbands and her family, even at a young age. But Jenny was different from the other women, and she refused to abide by the tribal laws and foresees herself building a queendom that fights for women’s rights. But, everything changed when she met a millionaire mogul named Johnny, who traveled from Kenya to England. Both sexes vied for dominance at the beginning. Eventually, Johnny acknowledged Jenny’s womanhood. During the course of what she thought was a change in her predetermined destiny, Jenny was not ready for what had befallen. What had transpired in her quest for equality when she left for England? Though driven, the realities that she believed to be a true show to be unreal.

This beautifully woven novel by MG. Wanjiku fights not only for women’s rights but also for human rights. According to her, the empowerment of women and ensuring women’s rights in society are the principal passions that drove her to produce such magnificent work of art that vies for gender equality.

About the Author

Born in Kenya, MG. Wanjiku, grew up having a passion for ensuring women’s rights in the society, which had led her to recently earned her BA (Hons) Social Work degree. She lives in Derby in the United Kingdom and has engaged herself as a worker in the social sector that helps children and families, and children with special needs, both in their school environment and homes. This, she had done both in Kenya and the United Kingdom.

She is also a volunteer for various children’s services. Further, she served as a board member and supported parents as a representative on the board. According to her, her passions involve empowering women and ensuring their rights in this unjust society.
