BookExpo America is the largest annual book trade fair in the United States. BEA is almost always held in a major city over four days in late May. In 1947 the book fair was founded as the American Booksellers Association Convention and Trade Show and continued under this name until 1994.

In “Investigative Deception”, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Simon Shakespeare brings his team of magicians and tricksters together again to solve two kidnapping cases. One case involves David Montague, one half of the brother performing team from England. He and his younger brother, Matt, are supposed to perform for the children who are being treated at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. David is reported missing.

The other kidnapping case hits close to home. Damon MacBeth’s past catches up with him, and it puts one of his teammates in danger, which forces the escape artist to face his demons once and for all.

Meanwhile, Titania Masaki, a Japanese-American professor with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics catches mentalist Feste Fillmore’s eye, and neither of them has felt such attraction in a long time.
