Wilbur Shapiro’s “Amos the Gifted” tastefully tells the tale of a young gifted black boy named Amos whose father abandoned him at birth.  His mother, Soriana, vowed to provide Amos all the necessary provisions required for the child to succeed in life despite the lack of a father figure to guide him. Unfortunate circumstances landed Soriana and her son in a farming community in New Hampshire- it was there that Amos made his mark and lived up to his calling.
