Burbank, CA – WEBWIRE

It was announced that Jon Gilbert, who serves as President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Operations, will segue into an Executive Advisor role at the Burbank studio concurrent with Jeff Nagler being promoted to President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Operations effective February 1, 2020.

“Under Jon and Jeff’s leadership for the last two decades, Warner Bros.’ studio operations, post production creative services and studio tours have become the industry standard for excellence,” said Ann Sarnoff, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Warner Bros. “Filmmakers and creative talent truly love the beautiful environment and collaborative atmosphere at our studios. I want to thank Jon for his many contributions and I’m grateful we’ll still be able to tap into his expertise as an advisor to the Studio.”

“Jeff is the natural choice to succeed Jon,” continued Sarnoff. “No one else has his level of knowledge and experience when it comes to running our studios in the most innovative, efficient and talent-attractive way. With our production facilities busier than ever and continually evolving to meet our needs, I look forward to working with Jeff in his new role as we navigate this exciting time in Warner Bros.’ history.”

Producer John Wells said, “Jon has been a wonderful partner and friend to me and to all of us at John Wells Productions for over 25 years. Beginning with ‘ER,’ and continuing today with ‘Shameless‘ and ‘Animal Kingdom,’ Jon has taken incredible care of our shows and shooting companies. We will miss him and wish him well on this exciting new chapter of his life. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with WarnerMedia and Jeff for many years to come.”

In addition to running the Burbank main lot and Ranch facilities, Gilbert and Nagler (along with Stephen Ross, Warner Bros.’ former EVP of recreational enterprises) spearheaded the redevelopment of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the company’s 200-acre facility near London. Since opening in 2012, the UK studio has nearly doubled its original capacity and has been the home of major features, including the “Fantastic Beasts” and “Wonder Woman” films. The Leavesden facility is also home to the hugely popular Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

Gilbert was named to his current post in October 2012, having served as President of Warner Bros. Studio Facilities since 2000. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities. He has also served as Vice President, Labor Relations for Lorimar Telepictures, and as a labor relations attorney for ABC. A member of the State Bar of California, Gilbert graduated from University of California at Los Angeles and Pepperdine University School of Law.

Nagler most recently served as Executive Vice President of the Studio Facilities group at Warner Bros., a role he was promoted to in 2001. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Business Affairs for the group. Nagler began his career as a labor and employment attorney with the Los Angeles law firm Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger. He received his JD from UCLA Law School and his undergraduate degree from State University of New York at Binghamton.
