Our 2019 Workforce Diversity Report

WEBWIRE

LinkedIn published the 2019 Workforce Diversity Report. Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging is our number one talent priority at LinkedIn and we are focused on ensuring that employees from all backgrounds are successful, especially groups that have been underrepresented. By building a diverse team — from top to bottom — with different perspectives we believe we can foster unparalleled innovation and accelerate the realization of LinkedIn’s vision of creating economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. This work is at the core of everything we do, and though we are proud of the progress we’ve made with Women, we acknowledge that we should be doing better, and moving  faster, especially with Black and Latino representation.

Highlights from our 2019 LinkedIn Diversity and Inclusion Report include:

  1. Globally, we are making strong progress in Women in leadership and Women in technical roles. Women now represent nearly 41% of our company’s leadership. That’s an increase of 17% in the last three years and 56% in the last five. Women hold more than 22% of our technical roles and we’ve seen an increase of Women in technical roles by 11% in the last three years and 16% in the last five. Women hold 55% of our non-technical roles.

  2. In the U.S., we are seeing incremental but slow progress in Black representation at 3.5% and Latino representation at 5.9%. Combined, this is a representation increase of 24% in the last three years and 32% in the last five. We’re also continuing to invest in a broad range of communities including People with Disabilities, LGBTQ+, and Veterans. For example, we’re seeing a more than 50% increase year over year in applications by Veterans and our military employee population has grown by nearly 20% year over year.
