About the Author

Meltez Smith is 31 years old at the age of his book’s birth, entitled “Poetry: A New Definition of Life.” He is the youngest of seven children, all born in Jackson, Mississippi, but he spent most of his life in Nashville, Tennessee where his roots were laid and core memories took place and blossomed. At a young age, spoken word has been a gift that fueled his attitude of leading a life that is strategic to his aim. He is forever grateful to his parents—Selven and Harriet Smith, to whom he described as grand, that served as the backbone supporting his life and the foundation that shaped his humble beginnings. He is a man, and a loving father of four, now divorced.
