New Capability Enables Users to Initiate Voice Communications from any Application

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — 12/11/2006 — Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced users can now click-to-call on telephone numbers embedded in any application deployed on Citrix Presentation ServerTM and automatically be connected to that number via their Cisco Unified IP Phones. Now, the more than 180,000 organizations worldwide using Citrix Presentation Server to deliver mission-critical client-server applications no longer need to switch out of their applications to make a call using their Cisco IP telephones.

“There’s a quantum leap in productivity when people using applications can jump seamlessly into telephony,” said Murli Thirumale, group vice president and general manager of the Advanced Solutions Group at Citrix. “By embedding click-to-call directly into existing applications, our customers will see tremendous improvements in both employee and business-process productivity.”

The primary goal of IP telephony in the enterprise has shifted from reducing network costs to creating business value through integrating communications into applications, which provides sustained improvements in user productivity and business-process productivity. As the number of business processes involving both applications and communications continues to increase, Cisco and Citrix are leading the way to this next generation of IP telephony by helping users take advantage of popular applications to communicate in richer and more meaningful ways.

Citrix and Cisco are working together to offer an easy-to-use solution that integrates Cisco Unified CallManager and Cisco Unified IP Phones with Citrix Presentation Server and Citrix Application GatewayTM to communications-enable existing applications, whether delivered with Citrix Presentation Server or deployed directly on the user’s personal computer. Citrix’s technology automatically identifies telephone numbers within applications and embeds pull-down buttons next to the telephone numbers. Users simply have to click on the pull-down menu next to the number, select “dial,” and the call is placed via their Cisco Unified IP Phones. By offering users the ability to click on the pull-down button next to the telephone number in an e-mail signature, for example, this technology eliminates manual dialing and misdialing and enhances productivity.

“Citrix’s click-to-call application combined with our Cisco Unified CallManager has provided us with a solution that integrates applications and telephony in a way that is both easy for our employees to use and simple for me to administer,” said Parsram Rajaram, senior systems analyst at the City of Winter Park in Florida. “Since our employees can dial their IP telephones right from any application, they can collaborate without losing the precious time it takes to switch between applications or devices.”
