Unitymedia Increases Business Agility and Improves the Partner Experience with MuleSoft

Cable operator Unitymedia leverages APIs built on Anypoint Platform to modernize its IT infrastructure and better connect with partners


 MuleSoft, provider of the leading platform for building application networks, today announced at MuleSoft Summit Frankfurt that Unitymedia has been leveraging MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform™ since 2018 to increase operational efficiency and better enable its partners to deliver improved customer experiences. Anypoint Platform allows Unitymedia to build an application network that connects different systems and data, including logistics, customer information, contract management, product and services. With an application network, Unitymedia’s partners can easily and securely access the data using APIs to streamline processes and automate workflows, such as porting phone numbers.

Through MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, Unitymedia established an API-led approach to simplify and accelerate connectivity with its partners, further reducing the time-to-market of its products. The first API project was to better connect to one of its major channel partners. Prior to using MuleSoft, three different connections and interfaces were required, making it difficult to manage updates and changes in settings. Unitymedia built one single standardized connection with MuleSoft to replace the original three, improving the partner’s experience and its delivery of services to end customers. With this reusable API in the application network, Unitymedia can now connect to other partners five times faster.
