Acura’s range-topping luxury performance sedan, the  RLX, and America’s all-time best-selling three-row luxury SUV1, the MDX, have been named to U.S. News & World Report’s list of “25 Safest Luxury Cars of 2019.”

For inclusion of this year’s list of “25 Safest Luxury Cars,” the criteria U.S. News & World Report used included the safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), each vehicle’s standard and optional safety features, and the vehicle’s overall U.S. News Score.

Both the 2019 RLX and MDX received 5-star Overall Vehicle Scores in the NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) and were awarded TOP SAFETY PICK ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Among numerous standard active and passive safety features, both the Acura RLX and MDX feature Acura’s Next-Generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure; Advanced Front Airbags (SRS); Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control; and the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies.
