Dennis Wong shares a relatable woman’s journey

It is but normal for immigrants’ children to wonder about their roots. In the case of author Dennis Wong, he is fortunate enough that he has his lovely mother to tell him firsthand details. He conducted interviews that he later on turned into a book, which is now called: “The Apricot Outlook Of Katherine Koon Hung Wong.”

Katherine Koon Hung Wong or Katy to her family and friends is a Chinese American woman from Hawaii. This book serves as her biography. From her early years of which Dennis noted: “There are plenty of references to sex which she didn’t mind sharing and she learned what to do at the onset of puberty. She realizes that she is gifted in some way and doesn’t know who will inherit it.”

Dennis goes into describing some of his conversations with his mother, “At times when Katy begins to reflect on her past, her thoughts flow into the present. Death and dying seemed to have a devastating impact on her life.”

This book is packed with details provided by Katy, of which most women can relate. Aside from that, to capture the readers’ attention, “the book features an array of color and black and white images from her life depicting such things as the first home that she and her husband purchased and travel documents from a trip to China.”
