“Aaron Turner is a very talented young man,” Jacob told his parents... “I was totally blown away. What a wonderful talent he has. I am going to ask the court if we can figure out a way for him to use his talents as part of his community service.”

Forgiveness and love of music are the center of Christian author’s Doreen Hatton’s masterpiece titled “Then Sings My Soul.” Released by Christian Faith Publishing, Hatton’s book will be displayed at the 2019 American Association of School Librarians.

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is the only professional membership organization that highlights school librarians and school library community. The association has more than 7,000 members and serves school librarians in the United States, Canada, and around the world. Accordingly, Hatton’s public display of her book at the association’s event is very timely.

“Then Sings My Soul” is a touching novel about the Langston’s. Samuel Langston gets killed by a car one night while crossing the street to his home. The car is driven by the fifteen-year-old teen Aaron Turner. It turns out that Aaron only has a learner’s permit and should not be driving alone. So, Aaron is placed under juvenile detention. However, Lily Langston and her family believe in forgiveness. So they convince the court to give Aaron probation and community service instead of detention.

Lily and her daughters are also talented musicians. They always perform at church and community functions. Lily later discovers that Aaron also sings and plays the guitar. So, she invites Aaron to perform with them at Lily’s church. Together they discover the joy of forgiveness and healing through the power of music.
