Rockville, Maryland January 25, 2005: Steven W. Ahlbin, President of The Morningtown Group LLC, an SBC HUB Zone certified Information Technology Consultancy and member of the Computer Security Institute stated in a personal interview today that MTG’s 1st Annual Information Assurance Industry Day Conference and Exhibition is to be held June 10th in Rockville, Maryland at the Double Tree Hotel.

The industry’s 1st integrated vendor event, the MTG Annual Conference will highlight the Consortium members and present to 250 computer and information security professionals from 40 agencies and/or organizations. The 18 vendor conference will offer sessions highlighting security best practices to help security practitioners and IT professionals navigate the challenges presented by wireless technologies, computer crime, new Government regulations and much more.

“This event is exciting,” said Peter Laitin, Director of Federal Sales for Verisign. “It is the perfect forum for security professionals and those responsible for implementing Cyber Security to come to a quiet setting, learn from the experts and come away prepared to protect their organizations’ critical information assets. The fact that the show has been ‘personalized’ for ‘one on one’ discussions with potential customers makes this show a win-win event.”
Morningtown President Steve Ahlbin added, “The reason for forming this consortium was because customers are beginning to understand that no single product or service can comprehensively address the possible cyber security threats to a customer’s IT infrastructure. Maintaining effective security is a continuous process that identifies assets, analyzes threats, defines acceptable levels of risk, and puts in place targeted information assurance solutions.”

“Entering into an agreement with the DHS certified cyber security lab at the University of Texas in Dallas where products will be tested and integrated into customer specific solutions, our clients are now in a position to exploit these technologies, safe in the knowledge that they will be fully protected against new emerging threats. The IAC also help clients comply with legislative and regulatory requirements set forth by organizations and/or mandates such as HSPD-12, NIST, FIPS, DISA, OSD, DOD, GLBA, SOX and HIPAA and gain formal certification for standards such as the ISO 17799.
