NPR Music is pleased to announce NPR’s Tiny Desk Fest, a series of intimate and special Tiny Desk concerts open to the public. Fans of the Tiny Desk will now be able to experience in real life what they have been watching online for years. The festival will take place the week of October 28, with surprise performances at NPR’s HQ in Washington, D.C. NPR’s Tiny Desk Fest is supported by Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey with additional sponsorship from Dolby and American Mensa.

NPR’s Tiny Desk Fest will host a small audience nightly to experience curated concerts at the iconic Desk. The performances will be followed by an interview with the artist in Studio One. Fans at home will have the chance to tune in to a live Tiny Desk performance with NPR’s Tiny Desk Fest live stream.

“The passion and loyalty of Tiny Desk fans is inspiring,” says Senior Director of NPR Music, Lauren Onkey. “We are thrilled to welcome audiences to the Tiny Desk for the first time to experience this special series of concerts.”

Since the launch of the Tiny Desk concert series in 2008, more than 800 performances have been recorded at the Tiny Desk—All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen’s festive workspace at NPR Headquarters, which is adorned with years of music mementos and memorabilia. Millions of viewers have been exposed to new artists through the Tiny Desk.

The Tiny Desk Concert series has provided a unique stage for artists from across genres and at every phase of their careers, including recent performances by: Lizzo, Toronto-based R&B duo dvsn, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, L.A.’s Ty Dolla $ign, Puerto Rican star iLe, chillwave pioneer Toro y Moi, Sesame Street to celebrate their 50th birthday, and more.
