Signing of the publication Architecture / Hiroshi Sugimoto
In this publication, Hiroshi Sugimoto revisits the most emblematic buildings of modern architecture from around the world taken with a large-format camera enabling the photographer to set manually his focal point. Using this technique, each building acquire a particular blur.
Sugimoto invites the viewer on a journey beyond the architectural subject, questioning the role of architecture in our daily life as well as the role of photography in relation to surrouding buildings.
These iconic constructions become, through Sugimoto’s lens, fully-fledged pictorial artworks.
Architecture is the fourth title of a collection of five published by Éditions Xavier Barral on Sugimoto’s major series: Dioramas, Seascapes, and Theaters.
