ALELÍ will premiere at the 28th Biarritz Latin American Film Festival!
We are thrilled to share that the 28th Biarritz Latin American Film Festival (30 September - 6 October 2019) is set to welcome the world premiere of the TFL Film ALELÍ, directed by Uruguayan filmmaker Leticia Jorge Romero and selected in Competition.
The film, written with Ana Guevara Pose, is named after its main characters: AL for Alba and Alfredo, E for Ernesto and LI for Lilián. All these initials compose a unique word that still hangs in front of the beach house: ALELÍ. All but that of Silvana, who was not born yet. The family seems on the verge of exploding, as they are facing the selling of the house and the mourning for the dead father.
ALELÍ is the sophomore film of Leticia Jorge Romero, who had previously co-directed SO MUCH WATER (Berlinale 2013, Panorama) together with Ana Guevara Pose. Developed in FeatureLab 2014, it is produced by Mutante Cine (Uruguay) and Rei Cine (Argentina).
It will compete for the “Abrazo de Oro” alongside two TFL titles: LITIGANTE by Franco Lolli (Cannes 2019, Critics’ Week’s Opening Film) and Maya Da-Rin’s THE FEVER (Locarno 2019, International Competition / Leopard for Best Actor, FIPRESCI Prize, Special Prize “Environment and quality of life”).
