Hillary plays the Grinch in new kids’ book

Los Angeles, CA (December 5, 2006) -- Hillary Clinton joins such classic characters as Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch as a scheming Yuletide villain in a new Christmas book for children that features many well-known liberals trying to shut down the Christmas season.


“HELP! MOM! THE 9TH CIRCUIT NABBED THE NATIVITY!” (Kids Ahead; hardcover: $15.95; ISBN 0976726920) by Katharine DeBrecht hits bookstore shelves today. The full-color book is illustrated by award-winning artist Jim Hummel and features dastardly comic look-alikes of Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, and an eggnog-swilling Ted Kennedy who attempt to shut down the third grade’s Christmas pageant.


Backed by nattering judges from the Ninth Circuit, the villainous “Hillary Clunkton” absconds with the crèche while “Al Bore” blows out the school’s Menorah. But the liberals’ plan to replace Christmas with a generic “non-offensive” holiday falls short when a hero resembling Clarence Thomas arrives bearing a copy of the Constitution.


“Extreme left-wing liberals hate Christmas and want it out of our schools because of the moral values it symbolizes,” says DeBrecht, a mother of three and former captain of Security Moms for Bush. “Christmas is about mankind’s spiritual relationship with God. But the far left doesn’t feel a need to celebrate the birth of Jesus since it believes that there’s no problem that can’t be fixed by the welfare state. That’s why leftists have waged a decades-long war to banish Christmas from our classrooms.”


DeBrecht -- whose past books include the Barnes & Noble.com #1 bestseller HELP! MOM! THERE ARE LIBERALS UNDER MY BED! (Kids Ahead; hardcover: $15.95; ISBN 0976726904) and HELP! MOM! HOLLYWOOD’S IN MY HAMPER! (Kids Ahead; hardcover: $15.95; ISBN 0976726912) -- anticipates a surly reaction from liberals to her latest title. MSNBC host Ron Reagan once scolded DeBrecht on his television show, Fox News host Alan Colmes claimed her books subjected kids to “brainwashing,” and the Democratic Underground website named DeBrecht to its “Top 10 Conservative Idiots” list. She was also denounced by Hillary Clinton’s press secretary for her first book, which showed the New York senator taxing and regulating a lemonade stand.


“The truth hurts, so naturally extreme liberals will howl at being shown as the Christmas-hating social engineers that they are,” shrugs DeBrecht. “But the reality is that the far left has been foisting its ideological agenda on our kids for years, and it hasn’t hesitated to take its war on traditional values into the classroom. And while children’s books about gay kings and socialist fish are embraced for their diversity, anything that encourages morality and the importance of tradition is vilified"
