The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) announced enhancements to its family-related programs, policies and benefits for eligible U.S. employees in April 2018, building off of ELC’s previously existing parental leave policy, and underscoring the company’s continued commitment to being a leading global employer. The current benefits offered include an expanded Paid Parental Leave Policy and a Back-to-Work Flexibility Policy, Adoption Assistance Program, and back-up child, adult and elder care.

Since the benefits enhancements were introduced, ELC employees have shared their feedback on how these best-in-class, family-first policies helped them thrive both inside and outside of work. Here are some of their unique stories.

“These policies have greatly impacted my work-life balance. It’s hard to express just how appreciative I am to ELC for giving me all that valuable time off with my newborn baby. When I came back to work I was fully energized, motivated and even more dedicated to my job!” – Stacy, Education Coordinator, Aveda

“It was a life-changing experience to spend nearly half-a-year off, paid, to care for my new baby and be with my family. I’m so grateful for that time, those memories and ELC for giving them to me. I feel valued as a human being… Choosing to become a mother and take a leave of absence is nerve-wracking when you consider how it might impact your career. But with this leave policy I felt secure, safe and valued in my position.” – Amy, Associate Director, R&D Skin Care, Clinique

“Having more time with my family after the birth of our second child helped us settle into new rhythms and spend time encouraging the connection between our two children. By the end of my leave, I was excited and energized to return to work and ready to take on a new professional challenge, knowing that my family life was settled and well-organized.” Amber, Senior Vice President & Global General Manager, Bumble and bumble

“The new and enhanced benefits reiterate that ELC is a family company that supports its employees. I was proud to work for ELC before having my daughter, but now I am proud and thankful to be a working mom at the company.” - Casey, Manager, Global IT Operations & Strategy

“ELC allowed me to bond with my baby and figure out how to be a mom for nearly six months – at full pay! I didn’t have to worry about job security or not being able to pay my bills... I got to simply be a mom. It was the greatest gift.” – Megan, Retail Manager, M·A·C

“My daughter was two weeks old when ELC began its Enhanced Parental Leave Benefits last year. I received a letter in the mail saying my leave had been extended from three months to almost six months. I had to read it several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming… To this day I remember the feeling when I told my fiancé. We were beyond thankful.” – Bree, Senior Analyst, Global Interconnected Retail, Information Technology

The Estée Lauder Companies’ culture is rooted in the Lauder family values. As a family-company, ELC is exceptionally proud to offer eligible US-based employees these family-related benefits.
