Dermatologist and author of children’s books E. Dorinda Shelley has released a comical book, “The Helium Egg.” The story follows a girl named Kath who gathers eggs in a barn.

One day Kath sees a large soft blue egg hidden by straw in a dark corner of the chicken coop. She then places the egg in the basket near a slumbering black hen. Suddenly, the big egg moved and rolled out of the basket and into the nest of the black hen. The next morning the hen is found floating in the air with the blue egg beneath her. She cries for help and two turkeys rescue her and place her and the egg back on the nest.  The next morning the big blue egg takes off again like a circus balloon! The black hen is helpless again and this time more barn animals are needed to rescue her and hold down the egg.  At sunrise the next day a rooster is baffled to see all the animals floating outside the barn and lets out a funny cry.  Alarmed by the rooster’s crow, 16 ducks quack and flap their way to the floating egg to help save their feathery friends.

Can the ducks stop the egg from floating up into the air again? A much bigger surprise awaits loyal fans at the upcoming 2019 Frankfurt International Book Fair from October 16 to 20, 2019 in Frankfurt Germany. Save the date!

“The Helium Egg” is now available in bookstores nationwide and online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
