Flatiron Books To Publish CNN’s Kate Bennett’s Biography of Melania Trump

New York, NY – WEBWIRE

Flatiron Books’ President and Publisher, Bob Miller, and Amy Einhorn, Executive Vice President and Publisher, announced today that the Macmillan division has acquired World rights to CNN’s East Wing reporter Kate Bennett’s book, FREE, MELANIA: The Unauthorized Biography, the first behind-thescenes look at the life of the most enigmatic first lady in United States history. FREE, MELANIA will be published on December 3, 2019 with Einhorn editing. Colin Fox at boook [sic] agent, LLC. represented Bennett in the deal.

In FREE, MELANIA we see the Trump family dynamics that Melania has had to navigate, including her strained relationship with Ivanka. We see a Trump team that was so dysfunctional it allowed Melania’s speech to the RNC to be too close for comfort to a Michelle Obama speech. We hear what finally made Melania snap and give Trump the swat heard round the world on the tarmac in Tel Aviv. We get a rare glimpse into what goes into her famous and sometimes infamous clothing choices (including perhaps the real message behind Melania’s controversial jacket, “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?”), which she wore while visiting the border) and how Melania speaks very loudly —if you just know where, and how, to listen. And we get a behind-the-scenes look of her often eyebrow-raising relationship with Donald Trump, from their beginnings to First family.

Looking at Melania in the pantheon of historic First Ladies, Kate Bennett shows just how groundbreaking Melania Trump is and why she matters. Bennett, an expert on First Ladies and the only reporter who covers Melania exclusively, has unparalleled access to Melania’s very small and loyal inner circle. As she shows in this page-turning book, the seemingly most reluctant First Lady is, in many ways, the most modern and groundbreaking First Lady ever.
