You will not want to put this book down! The story draws you in and keeps you locked in the intrigue. I’m very eager to pick up the next book and see where it leads. Very fun to live in Colorado and know exactly the cities and locations mentioned in the book. - Amazon Review

In M. S. Matassa’s, psychological thriller, “The Well House” you experience “A Man’s Incredible Journey to Save His Pregnant Wife from the Ultimate Evil”. One can expect to get spooked, and inevitably hooked on the dreams, their meaning, and connection to the present, past, or future.

The book opens like a scene from a Hollywood movie – our hero, Ben Carson, is driving an old, rusty Mustang convertible on an open highway under darkened skies. There is a foreboding sense - terrifying, as it is mysterious with the slow reveal of a well house. Then it segues into a serene mountain view, offering flashbacks of a past life, setting the pace for the story to captivate and rivet, so that it is hard to put down.

Ben Carson’s life is quiet, until his wife, Anne, pregnant with their second child, sinks into an unexplained coma, which grows deeper with each passing day. He has been having recurring dreams, and as he digs deeper into the events surrounding his family, he realizes that Anne’s recent study of her patients could well be a catalyst for the menacing, strange events around them.

When he investigates head on to save Anne and their unborn child, Ben discovers that the well house is a portal to another dimension and encounters mystery after mystery, drawing him from one dimension into another, further into a world of dreams, of good versus evil. It is a fantastical, metaphysical, edgy drama and is reluctant hero storytelling that builds and delivers from beginning to end.

“The Well House” is a multi-layered tale, part drama, part fantasy and part parable, that takes you on an amazing journey from the mountains above Boulder Colorado to the depths of the dark zone.

Michael S. Matassa has written this novel as a first, with many citing him comparably to Stephen King. He has finished a screenplay based on this book, and has written several short stories. He has also written “The Well House II: The Revenge”, and “The Well House III: The Redemption” which are part of the series called “The Well House Chronicles”.
