Author Tyler Oberheu joins a sterling book fair in the Middle East

Author Tyler Oberheu is set to cross the Middle East later this year to pitch his newly polished book “Twist and Shout: An Awkward Life with Tourette’s” (ReadersMagnet; 2019) at the 2019 Sharjah International Book Fair. This fine event takes place in the emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
 
Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is a subsidiary of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and is considered the most prestigious book fair in the Arab world. As a home to the most exciting literary event in the region, the SIBF “seeks to spread joy of reading, promote cross cultural understanding and bring the finest talent in publishing to the Middle East from all over the world.” The fair was established in 1982 under the benefaction of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
 
Each year the event lasts for 11 days and has attracted 1,256 publishers from 59 countries drawing over a million visitors. So, this occasion is one of the perfect opportunities for Tyler Oberheu to let the world know his delightful masterpiece.

About the Author
 
Tyler L. Oberheu was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at age 17. At age 20, he sat and wrote this book every day during the summer of 2014 when he should have been working, but the constant yelling and twitching kind of made that hard. In 2017 he underwent Deep Brain Stimulation to treat his Tourette’s, and today he works within the Special Education Department at a local elementary school.
