Quote: So if you remember that movie Jim Carrey was in where the number 23 was the bad guy, my birthdate and time contains both 666 and the number 23.

Author Tyler Oberheu pens a very entertaining memoir “Twist & Shout: An Awkward Life with Tourette’s” (ReadersMagnet; 2019). His humor-filled narration is hard to put down that will hands down amuse any type of reader.

One of the funniest lines Tyler spewed in his book is how he comically calculates his birthday with the number 666. He was born on June 6, 1993 and his birthdate encompasses the 6th day on the 6th month of the year. Moreover, if one subtracts the last two digits of his birth year he will get 6 (i.e. 9 – 3 = 6). Actually, it was Tyler’s uncle’s idea to combine those numbers to his mother to help her “ease” her pregnancy.

Another funny he moment he narrates is recalling his first memory. He remembers going to the top of a big hill as a child riding on a red tricycle. As young as he was, he reminisced a very gigantic hill. But when he revisited that place, that big hill was actually a bump.

About the Author

Tyler L. Oberheu was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at age 17. At age 20, he sat and wrote this book every day during the summer of 2014 when he should have been working, but the constant yelling and twitching kind of made that hard. In 2017 he underwent Deep Brain Stimulation to treat his Tourette’s, and today he works within the Special Education Department at a local elementary school.
