Poet Combines the Beauty of Words and Pictures

A collection of sonnets and images that capture the hearts of readers

St. Paul Minnesota – WEBWIRE

Art is appreciated regardless of form

Art is appreciated regardless of form. When two art forms are combined, this creates an extraordinary experience for the spectator. This is poet Thomas G. Reischel’s aim in his book, Take Flight: The Sonnets.

In this collection of sonnets, Reischel personally writes 170 sonnets that talk about nature, seasons, and everyday life. Take Flight contains 73 different formats of the sonnet form. The author puts extra effort in his book as he further discusses about rhyme, stanza styles, and other essential elements of a sonnet. Each poem is a blended composition of verse, subject, and colors and imagery.

“I desire that the reader values learning about poetry and that they find something new and exciting about sonnets in particular,” says Reischel.

About the Author
Thomas G. Reischel was born and raised in Minnesota, which is why his Midwestern sensibility is prevalent in his pictures and literary tone. He has been writing poetry since he was a high school freshman. Among his biggest career successes is formulating unique poetic formats such as “alphabet poems,” triptych sonnets, “word weave” poetry, and more. He was chosen as a judge of the Voice of Kansas poetry contest. His three-book series, Picture Poems, is also a huge success.
