Shane Lowry burst onto the golf scene when he won the Irish Open as an Amateur back in 2009. Since then, his sporting career has gone from strength to strength—winning several international competitions including the Portuguese Masters in 2012, the Abu Dhabi  HSBC Championship in early 2019 and now, the 148th Open Championship.

Lowry himself admits to feeling nervous at the beginning of play, but his will and tenacity, as well as support from his team, carried him through to victory. Following an honest conversation with coach Neil Manchip the night before and continued words of wisdom from his Caddy, Bo, Lowry went forward to tackle each hole on the links course, one at a time, shot by shot.

Weather conditions on the final day of play did nothing to distract the Immedis brand ambassador from his mission of finishing ahead of his opponents. The 32-year-old County Offaly resident led by six strokes and finished the Dunluce Links course at 15 under par bringing his total number of shots to 269. Shane Lowry’s success at the 148th Open Championship is a rousing reminder of the rewards of persistence and commitment to greatness.

The same strength and integrity that Shane showed in The Open is what led Immedis to partner with him back in July 2017. Immedis is committed to delivering quality solutions to clients around the world, and we can see that commitment to excellence mirrored in brand ambassador Shane Lowry as we look forward to the continued collaboration.
