MovieSeer has formed a partnership with TOKYOPOP, leader of the Global Manga Revolution, obtaining exclusive rights to distribute a catalogue of more than 60 TOKYOPOP properties on mobile networks across Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore, it was announced today. TOKYOPOP manga wireless content will be available in various forms, including graphic images, audio and video contents, and games.

As leaders in the Asian mobile market, MovieSeer recognizes the importance of customizing popular comic contents to fit consumer behavior and tastes. Manga is hugely popular throughout the Asia Pacific region, a prime market for distribution of wireless content. With the newly formed TOKYOPOP partnership, MovieSeer is strongly poised to provide consumers with innovative, new product that targets the teen and young adult market, offering a diversified range of mobile manga content products, personalized and localized to each individual territory.

The TOKYOPOP manga collection, which spans a broad demographic range, includes the number one selling hit, Princess Ai, targeted to women 16-25 years of age; @Large, targeting men 18-30, and ShutterBox, geared towards women 13 to 20 years of age. As a result of this partnership, MovieSeer will leverage its distribution strengths to market these and other TOKYOPOP mobile contents throughout Asia.

According to Marc Honorof, Managing Director, TOKYOPOP Digital, “TOKYOPOP decided to expand our mobile distribution into Southern Asia, primarily because we have found MovieSeer to share our sensibilities and love for the genre. MovieSeer has proven themselves to be a successful partner with other major media companies and we’re very optimistic our companies will share great success in expanding the worldwide Mobile Manga Revolution!”

Mr. Roy D. Chapin IV, CEO and founder of MovieSeer Limited, expressed his excitement about the partnership with TOKYOPOP and in bringing mobile manga to Asia. “I see huge potential in providing an alternative to manga comic fans, where they are no longer limited to the usual books and magazines but are now able to store and read manga on their portable devices. TOKYOPOP is already a strong manga brand in the world’s biggest market and we are confident we can use our expertise in porting the contents onto various platforms to bring TOKYOPOP manga to mobile in Asia!”
