MTV’s 2019 “VMAs” announces month-long celebration featuring collaborations with SoulCycle, Lincoln Center and Save The Music Foundation leading up to Monday, August 26th

MTV announced exciting new collaborations leading up to the 2019 “VMAs” on Monday, August 26th, offering fans more ways than ever before to be a part of the VMA experience. As the show approaches its 40th anniversary, MTV will celebrate throughout the month of August with music-focused activations featuring world-renowned partners such as SoulCycle, Pharrell Williams’ creative collective at I AM OTHER and Arizona State University, Lincoln Center and Save The Music Foundation.

SoulCycle

  • SoulCycle and MTV are bridging together music and lifestyle in a first-to-market partnership for both brands giving fans the opportunity to participate in VMA-themed rides at select SoulCycle studios across New York and Los Angeles.
  • Starting August 1st, fans can sign-up for themed rides, including “Return of the Boy Bands” and “Songs of the Year.”
  • SoulCycle and MTV will have surprise guests joining, including “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” housemates Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, and MTV VMA PUSH Artist of the Year, CNCO, among other MTV VMA nominees.


Lincoln Center

  • Lincoln Center and MTV will offer an intimate performance at the famed ‘Lincoln Center Out of Doors’ event on Friday, August 9th.
  • Save The Music Foundation has joined forces with MTV PUSH artist H.E.R. for an intimate performance in Damrosch Park. The night will open with U.K. soul singer Samm Henshaw, alongside top student musicians from Save the Music Foundation programs.


J Dilla Music Tech Grant

  • Save The Music Foundation and MTV will launch the J Dilla Music Tech Grant during the 2019 “VMAs.”
  • Developed in partnership with Pharrell Williams’ creative collective at i am OTHER and Arizona State University, the J Dilla Music Tech Grant delivers the future of music education through innovative tech tools and curriculum.
  • This September, Save The Music Foundation will kick off this revolutionary program with technology grants in seven high schools across the country.


The “VMAs,” which will be hosted by comedian, actor and best-selling author Sebastian Maniscalco, will air live from Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Monday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, and across MTV’s global brands in more than 180 countries, reaching more than half a billion households around the world. Announced yesterday, fashion designer Marc Jacobs will receive the inaugural ‘MTV Fashion Trailblazer Award,’ in collaboration with the CFDA, at this year’s “VMAs.”
