The new year opens with new books and enjoyment at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, just in time for the yearly American Library Association Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits. From January 25 to January 29, the place receives thousands of readers, which includes the young and the young at heart.

This year, author and illustrator Mary Lee Gutwein joins the event with her book on forgiveness and good manners. For her, teaching good values to children enables them to build and maintain a good relationship with God and with other people while fully enjoying the joys of childhood. This is what Mary Lee aims to achieve in her book, “Party of Three at the Palace of Blue.”

The book opens during the playtime of three sisters, Lindy, Amy, and Lucy. A royal party will commence. But it won’t be until the clock strikes 3:00 p.m. that a big surprise will teach them a lesson on manners and forgiveness, to be followed by a Bible story that will remind the sisters of the Golden Rule and the coming of the great king.
