Mai Fyfield appointed to the BBC Commercial Holdings Board

Mai, who most recently worked as Chief Commercial & Chief Strategy Officer for Sky Group is set to join the board on a three-year term. Her appointment fills a vacant role following Sir Howard Stringer’s departure last year. Prior to her role as CCO/CSO of Sky, Mai worked for Sky for nearly 20 years in a variety of senior roles across strategy, commercial and regulation and was part of the senior leadership team for a decade.

Non-executive Chair, and BBC Board Member for Wales, Dame Elan Closs Stephens, says: “We are delighted to welcome Mai to the BBC Commercial Holdings Board. Mai has extensive experience in this industry and with her other non-executive directorships, Mai will bring further challenge and support to our strategic direction.”

Mai has been a non-executive director on the Board of Nationwide Building Society since 2015, and a member of its IT and Resilience Committee and Remuneration Committee since 2016 and 2018, respectively. Additionally, Mai is a non-executive director of Roku Inc. and a member of its Audit Committee.

The BBC Commercial Holdings Board provides governance, assurance and oversight of the commercial subsidiaries and their activities, on behalf of the BBC Board and the BBC group. The commercial subsidiaries include: BBC Global News Holdings Limited, BBC Studioworks Limited, BBC Studios Limited and BBC Children’s Productions Limited (and their respective subsidiaries). BBC Commercial Holdings is chaired by Elan.
