Writer Philip Wittig Urges American Christians to Repent so That the Nation Will Be Saved

Israel was once a mighty and flourishing nation, but collapsed because of the Israelites’ defiance of God’s laws. Similarly, the United States is experiencing slow and steady downfall because of the national sins the people and its society are committing. This is the rationale of Philip Wittig in his engrossing book “Apostasy Can Lead a Nation to Self-Destruct.”
 
In the book, Wittig outlines the sins of America, which he refers to as national sins. The Supreme Court’s decisions embody the sins of  taking prayer out of schools, and approving abortion and same-sex marriage. “Such transgressions anger God,” and Wittig believes a warning was sent to the nation with the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in New York City and Washington to turn away from and repent of those sins. America is now standing on the verge of destruction if it persists on engaging those national sins.
 
In order to escape destruction, Wittig proposes that the Americans and their leaders should restore Christian values that were once enshrined by George Washington. He also urges sincere, active repentance as the only method to save the nation. Now is the time for Christians in the United States to take a stand on vital issues that satisfy God’s teachings and disavow the religious relativism currently embraced by society. Further, Wittig also believes that society must fight against “historical amnesia” and that Biblical principles should be part of their lives at all levels.
