Two new Directors join OUP HR team

We are pleased to have appointed key new members to our Group HR team as it advances at pace with our plans to modernize and transform our people-proposition at OUP.

Caroline Cryer joins us as Talent Director on 15 July, having supported and developed colleagues at all levels at Intercontinental Hotels Group, Sky, and Diageo, among others. She replaces Nick Fallon who has led the Talent Development Team for the past six months as Interim Talent Director.

Speaking about the appointment, Lesley Sommerville, Group HR Director, said: ‘I firmly believe that our role in HR is to facilitate change and modernization in the organization, and I’m delighted that Caroline is joining us. She is hugely passionate and energetic about people development and will be a great fit for us.’
 
In addition, we are also delighted to announce a new Director of HR Business Partnering for OUP in Asia and Australia and New Zealand. Parul Pandey will join OUP in October, coming from roles at global organizations such as Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, and Diageo. Parul is a global expert on Diversity and Inclusion and speaks regularly on helping to transform business through progressive and inclusive practices.

Lesley commented on Parul’s appointment: ‘I am convinced Parul will contribute enormously to our exciting and pacy agenda. Every single one of us has a responsibility to incorporate diverse and inclusive practices into our daily working lives, but I would like Parul to ensure that we progress at pace with our stated global Diversity and Inclusion goals at the Press.’
