Christie’s announces its collaboration with Gooding & Company, the internationally-celebrated auction house acclaimed for selling some of the world’s most significant and valuable collector cars, on a joint exhibition at Christie’s Los Angeles July 18-20.

“We are delighted to be joining our friends at Christie’s in their Los Angeles flagship gallery to bring our West Coast clientele together for this special exhibition,” says President and Founder of Gooding & Company, David Gooding. “Both Gooding & Company and Christie’s recognize that today’s collectors have interests that reach beyond a single category. Our buyers are constantly in search of items of unmatched quality — whether it is a motor car, a painting, or a piece of fine jewelry. Bringing together these exceptional cars alongside Christie’s Luxury Private Sales property is an exciting opportunity to reach new clients across the collecting categories and is emblematic of the global market demand for collector cars.”

The preview offers an exclusive opportunity to view three exceptional examples offered by Gooding & Company ahead of their Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach Auctions on August 16 & 17 in Pebble Beach, California. Displayed concurrently is a tailored selection of Christie’s Private Sales property, including Watches, Jewelry, and Handbags – all available for immediate purchase.

On view will be the highly anticipated 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France Berlinetta (estimate: $5,500,000 – $6,000,000). Long been one of the most sought-after GT racing cars of the 1950s, with just 78 examples produced, Chassis 0903 GT is the fourth of only 36 single-louver Tour de France Berlinettas built. Delivered new to Sweden, this Tour de France was initially owned by two Swedish race car drivers: first by noted driving ace Sture Nottorp and later Kjell Lundberg. After remaining in Sweden for decades, the TdF eventually made its way to the United States. Its current owner undertook a complete, concours-quality restoration in 2012 by award-winning Ferrari specialist Motion Products Inc. This TdF is finished in a period grey and red livery, complemented by a beautiful light grey leather interior highlighted by special Heuer stopwatches mounted in a unique rally binnacle in the wrinkle-finish dashboard.

Also on view will be a 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer(estimate: $800,000 – $1,000,000). This beautiful, air-cooled 911 — known as “the Mountain View Car” — underwent a truly unique and bespoke commission by the renowned Singer Vehicle Design in 2016 for a prominent Porsche collector. This truly unique, made-to-order Porsche features a striking Downton Blue finish with Tobacco Brown leather interior and was constructed with a lightweight ethos, making it a brilliant driver’s car.

Gooding & Company will be announcing a third car to be included in the Christie’s Los Angeles preview closer to the exhibition week.
