CHRO Ronald de Jong discusses the importance of HR to Philips’ success
Chief Human Resources Officer Ronald de Jong was recently interviewed about HR’s key role in Philips’ success. He explains how Philips is a truly human company where human resources are considered of great importance. “HR is crucial for the success of any company,” he says.
In an extensive interview with CHRO Magazine, Ronald argues that a people-centric strategy is essential, now and in the future, because “Attracting and retaining the most promising employees is what the war on talent is about"
However, he also points out that while deciding on a strategy is one thing, implementing that strategy and getting Philips’ 77,000 employees on board is something completely different. “That’s the real challenge,” he says. “Because we do not want to follow in healthcare, we want to lead.”
Ronald also discusses the important work the Philips Foundation is doing to reduce healthcare inequality by providing access to quality healthcare for disadvantaged communities.
