Through his book, the author attempts to build bridges between theologically-based values and anger surrounding the gay liberation movement.

WEBWIRE

A novel that empowers readers who might see themselves in Jacobus, an “uncut eunuch” and feel compassion and acceptance for anyone who identifies as LGBT.

Paul Trittin, who lived and worked most of his life as a closeted gay man in a religiously conservative surrounding, published his novel “Jacobus: A Eunuch’s Faith, The Apprentice” (Author Reputation Press; 2019). The historical fiction novel, as described by the newspaper Nevada Appeal, is a tale of gay romance and acceptance intersecting with the Judeo-Christian faith systems in the first-century Roman maritime world and beyond into India.

Avid readers of historical fiction and gay literature will get the chance to check out the book’s exhibit at the Miami Book Fair 2019 Street Fair on November 22-24, 2019 at Miami Dade College (Wolfson Campus) in Downtown Miami.

Founded in 1984 as “Books by the Bay,” the Miami Book Fair aims to promote reading, encourage writing; heighten an awareness of literacy and the literary arts in Miami’s multi-ethnic community; and serve the community through the promotion of craft and the power of the written word. In 2018, the book fair drew an estimated 200,000 visitors and hosted 500+ authors and 200+ exhibitors.

Trittin’s novel “Jacobus: A Eunuch’s Faith” will be exhibited by ReadersMagnet at the Miami Book Fair. Abounding with themes of pride and acceptance and tolerance and love, the novel serves as an effective bridge of reconciliation between the author’s faith and sexuality. The novel’s characters, most particularly the protagonist Jacobus, an “uncut eunuch,” live out their faith with strong convictions while living in a world of personal chaos.
