Amber, the world’s first all-in-one, cloud-attached smart storage platform, today launches nationally with immediate shipping. Now, anyone can securely store and share photos, video and data with both industry-leading security and all-in-one ease. The launch also coincides with the creation of a political action committee (PAC) to support federal data privacy law implementation.

Amber’s personal hybrid cloud platform ensures that all digital assets are saved and organized locally but can be easily accessed remotely. The device, created by Latticework, Inc., includes a high-speed wireless router to enable faster, seamless access and sharing for all digital files. The company’s unique technology gives individuals full control, security and ownership of their data along with easy-to-use features and multi-layer protection.

“There is simply too much personal information stored in public clouds, beyond the control of its owners,” said Pantas Sutardja, founder and CEO of Latticework. “With Amber, we set out to build a platform that makes data privacy easy for everyone - not just the tech-savvy.”

Since launching in June 2018, Amber sold out its first manufacturing run and won several awards, including the 2019 Red Dot Awards: Product Design and the 2018 Tech Trailblazers’ Storage Trailblazer award recognizing design excellence and the innovative all-in-one smart storage solution. Latticework itself has grown significantly as well, expanding its workforce by more than 50 percent, fueled by a recent $13 million Series A round from Tyche Partners and strategic partners.

Prior to founding Latticework, Dr. Sutardja co-founded and led Marvell Technology Group to over $3 billion in annual revenue as CTO, with the mission of restoring consumers’ control over their data. Inspired by Tim Cook’s call for comprehensive US privacy legislation, Sutardja is expanding his personal mission by launching the Committee to Restore Ownership of Personal Data (CROWN). The PAC will support the call for federal data privacy laws by contributing to federal candidates who support the implementation of data privacy legislation in line with Europe’s GDPR and the California 2018 Consumer Privacy law
