Keith Corman Teaches Kids Safety Around Railways

Watching and riding trains is such an exciting experience, especially if it’s the first time kids have experienced them. But what about before the train runs and the train cars are about to be coupled together? Could that be exciting, too? Well, according Keith Corman, yes. As long as people follow the rules and wear the right gears. We must always remember: RAILROADS ARE NOT PLAYGROUNDS!
 
In the book “Katie and Kenny Tour the Railroad,” children are taken on a journey where only a few could take a glimpse. The cute kittens named Katie and Kenny embark on an unusual trip to the railroad yard in Catville with Dad and their nice neighbor Engineer Timothy Tabby. They squeal in excitement, but before Engineer Tabby could take them on the tour, he reminded the kittens they must wear hardhats, safety goggles and to keep alert of their surroundings all the time. About the Author
 
Keith N. Corman has a deep penchant for trains. As a boy in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, he used to race himself to watch the trains of the Baltimore and Ohio Line pass near his home. He found the steam locomotives to be expressly exciting and his family and neighborhood instilled safety around the railways.
 
Time passed by and his love of trains never waned, but he followed a different career path. He lives with his wife, Martha, in Cincinnati, Ohio and have one daughter, Amanda. Keith is now retired and founded a business consulting firm for industrial development and rail, river and highway logistics service. He is also an active supporter on educating the public on rail safety and the significance of railroads, as well as an enthusiastic model railroader at Railfan.
