BRF business unit responsible for providing solutions in animal nutrition serves more than 200 clients in 10 countries; drug market hits business

With a little more than two years of experience in the Brazilian and international market, BRF Ingredients stands out as a competitive player in the segment of animal nutrition and food ingredients , with more than 200 clients in 10 countries and revenues of R $ 430 million, registered in 2018. This figure is 20% higher than in 2017, when the company effectively started the operations of its first hydrolyzed protein factory in the municipality of Concórdia, in Santa Catarina.

Now, a new segment has definitely entered the radar of the company, the drug. The breadth of the business demonstrates the success of BRF, parent of BRF Ingredients, in betting on the development of this business, prioritizing profitable growth, innovation and sustainability. The current production of BRF Ingredients exceeds 460 thousand tons of products per year and involves around 550 employees. Between own and third units, the team involved coordinates the production in 20 units. 

The production process takes advantage of BRF inputs, including feathers and viscera, and transforms them into high added value ingredients - used in other products such as animal feed and oils. The main differential of BRF Ingredients products is the high level of nutritional components and guarantee of origin, since the BRF chain works only with partners who follow high standards of quality. In addition, the unit offers the possibility for the customer to customize the order and products.

PRODUCTION

The first BRF Ingredients factory was inaugurated in 2017, in the city of Concórdia, Santa Catarina. With a contribution of R $ 25 million, the unit has an innovative production process, which uses raw material from other activities carried out by the company itself, such as viscera and feathers. In addition to the portfolio of animal nutrition and food ingredients, the unit provides solutions to the fronts of plant nutrition and health and wellness. Currently, the BRF Ingredients portfolio is marketed in countries of the Americas, Africa and Asia.
