Billionaire’s Gift to Morehouse Grads Could Be a Game-Changer for Us All

Chicago, IL, USA – WEBWIRE

“The most rewarding feeling for everyday people is not just to have their college debt forgiven, but it is to one day be able to pay the generosity bestowed upon them forward,” Webb says.  "I often see people who are overworked and over scheduled yet still desire to make a difference in the lives of others.  They are just unsure how or even where to begin."

While billionaire Robert F. Smith has everyone talking about his generous pledge to pay off the student debt of Morehouse’s Class of 2019, he has also stirred a deeper buzz among everyday people about what they can do within their own means to help others overcome life’s challenges.

Whenever a philanthropic gift of this magnitude occurs, it always sparks a larger discussion, notes Suzette Webb, author of Blues to Blessings:  Moving from Fearful to Faithful.”  For proof, she cites what happened to another billionaire, Oprah Winfrey, after an Instagram user challenged her for not dissolving the debt of the graduates of Colorado College when she gave the commencement address there.

Winfrey didn’t cave to pressure.  Instead, she firmly stated that she had “already paid $13 m in scholarships. Have put over 400 men through @morehouse1867.”

Indeed, acts of generosity from people like Winfrey and Smith are likely to spawn even more charitable giving.  During the final season of The Oprah Winfrey Show, some of the Morehouse students whom she previously gave scholarships to, surprised Oprah by making a $300,000 donation to Morehouse College to help other students.

Paying it forward is contagious -- even for non-billionaires.

“The most rewarding feeling for everyday people is not just to have their college debt forgiven, but it is to one day be able to pay the generosity bestowed upon them forward,” Webb says.  “I often see people who are overworked and over scheduled yet still desire to make a difference in the lives of others.  They are just unsure how or even where to begin.”

Webb says anyone can move from self-doubt to clarity by following four proven steps that help them discover their own divine calling.

Webb’s website, www.bluestoblessings.com is dedicated to helping people step out in faith toward more fulfilled living, leaving their comfort zone for their miracle.  You can also take a four-minute Faith Challenge.  The results can help ordinary people to change lives just like the billionaires do.  Although doing so may not make the news, it will certainly make a substantial difference in many lives including your own.
