Remember the joy of writing and what it can bring.

Brandt Schubbe’s “God, the Welder” is a very impressive story of a man who lost his father and his loss made him question God’s very existence. When he a met a girl where he used to perform part-time work while in college, he realized that God was up to something for him.

In the first part of the book, the protagonist met a man with his face covered with tattooed map. That man inflicted pain on the protagonist by soldering his tongue. The protagonist passed out during the process and woke up in his apartment, feeling the pain in his tongue. He got up and saw a notebook on his desk, which had a picture of his as a child. Then, he wrote on his notebook the memories he had when he was young.

In one of his memories, he found his girlfriend Caroline at his part-time work. They went out to a party one night and Caroline talked about her love of Jesus. The protagonist was stupefied at her devotion to Jesus and told her he hated God for losing his father, questioned the purpose of pain and felt so lost in his life. Caroline was quick to assure the protagonist that God did not take away his father and that his father’s death paved a way for him to become great.

This greatness is about to take off, and more will come for the protagonist. There will be ups and downs along the way and the readers will be engaged for more touching plots.
