Shirley Chark imparts a unique and profound faith in God through her book “Stand Strong.” Like many, Shirley experiences struggles in life and shows us how she got through them. The secret in surviving in her struggles is prayer.

She recalls one incident when a man was driving the car almost uncontrollably. She was with her friends on their way to a dance contest when the car moved in a zigzag manner. She remembered calling out to God to protect them until they arrive at the venue. Fortunately, they showed up safe and sound and decided to take another ride back home.

As time passed by, the power of God never left her. She met Darrell again after graduating college and moved out of her hometown to work. Darrell and Shirley moved in together and eventually married. Shirley was yet to face another attempt at life when she was about to give birth to their first child. While she was in labor, her husband Darrell noticed that their baby’s heartbeat would drop. So, he called the doctors and nurses and decided the she be rushed to the emergency C-section. Thankfully, Shirley was able to pull her baby safely. Her safe delivery wouldn’t happen without the protection from God and the vigilance of her husband. The family was able to thrive from that difficult time.

Truly a strong faith in God and constant prayers are such a strong combination to live strong in life. God wants his people to have strong faith and devoted prayer so that people could live long to experience his glory.
