Christie’s Unveils New Evening Sale Highlighting Artistic Iconoclasts

This season, Christie’s unveils a new evening sale entitled “ICONOCLAST”, which will directly precede the 20^thCentury and Contemporary Art evening sale. This visionary auction features a generation of artists born between 1969-1989 who are defying traditional boundaries and cultural conventions to create art for a global audience.

The title of this sale – ICONOCLAST – was chosen to highlight the tradition-defying tendencies that unite this diverse generation of artists. Iconoclasts challenge and critique widespread beliefs or institutions, and these artists have shattered familiar categorisations about stylistic ideologies.

They were selected for the ways in which they break new artistic ground in their work, and push against the boundaries of the expected.
