Tammy Lavespere publishes “Gilly of Galilee,” a children’s story about purpose, forgiveness, and miracles

The children’s story serves as a side story to the least dramatic of Jesus’ miracles in the Bible: the coin in the fish’s mouth.

“A beautiful, moving children’s story about a fish uniquely designed for a special purpose!”

A number of side stories have been written about the miracles in the Bible, paying great attention to certain biblical figures who, although unnamed, helped make the miracles possible: the servant girl of Naaman’s wife, the little boy with the five loaves and two fish, and the donkey (named Bo in the 2017 film “The Star”) that carried Mary to Bethlehem. Children’s author Tammy Lavespere wrote her own Bible-inspired side story titled “Gilly of Galilee” (Christian Faith Publishing; 2018).

“Gilly of Galilee” tells the story about a little fish “that was different from all the other fish” as “he was born with some of his scales turned wrong which gave him a slight handicap.” When Gilly swam too fast, it would cause him to get unbalanced and lose control, which usually ended up bad for him and his friends since they were the ones that had to get him out of whatever mess he got in.

After an accident that hurt his friend, Gilly tearfully sought God for help, only to discover later that God created him that way because he had a very special role to play in a miracle story along with a fisherman named Peter.

“Gilly of Galilee” is an inspiring children’s story that teaches everyone is born with a special purpose and imparts lessons on forgiveness and miracles. The children’s book also reveals in an unusual way that God the creator of all things can use anything or anyone to accomplish His will, whether it be a little fish named Gilly, a star in the sky or you.

It’s never too early to teach children that God knows and loves them. Truly he’s a God of miracles! Gift them a copy of Tammy Lavespere’s “Gilly of Galilee.” Order it through Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Watch out for the public display of this Bible-inspired children’s book at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on April 13-14, 2019 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.
