Robika, the main character in “Robika the Adventurous Hungarian” by Louise Andrea Dube, is a simple boy who lived a simple life before things got out of hand. A poor commoner, he involves himself in a secret love affair with Gabriella who is a daughter of an aristocrat. After four years, Gabriella’s family moved to another place to avoid Hitler’s heavy hand. He is then drafted into the Hungarian army to fight for freedom. With his many talents, he is able to sidetrack most of the advances and manages to escape. However, he was captured by the Russians and was forced to become a double agent. Now as a double agent living luxuriously, he continuous his secret affairs. With years of war, he now begs Americans to help him get out of the misery of being under the Russians. With their help, he continued being a double agent but fed lies to the Russians about the plans of the Americans. The life of Robika goes a long way as more adventures await.
