EDN Members Get Free Accreditations for Silbersalz Conference 2019

In connection with the second edition of Silbersalz International Science and Media Festival, EDN members are this year once again eligible for a free accreditation for the international Silbersalz Conference, talking place alongside the festival. The number of free accreditations is limited and handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, submissions are now open for the Silbersalz Science & Media Pitch. The submission deadline is 15 April 2019.

Silbersalz International Science and Media Festival will take place from 20–23 June 2019 at the Leopoldina – National Academy of Sciences, in Halle, Germany. The festival is organized by Documentary Campus and in collaboration with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

EDN is this year once again teaming up with Silbersalz to exclusively offer its members up to 20 free accreditations for the international Silbersalz Conference which takes place as part of the festival on 22-23 June at the Leopoldina German National Academy of Sciences. The Silbersalz Conference brings international scientists and media professionals together to explore storytelling at the frontline of research and technology changing what it means to be human. On the first conference day, a hand-picked line-up of scientific minds, researchers and thinkers will guide an interdisciplinary audience through the surprises and controversies behind the theme "The Science of Love”. Bringing together new influential approaches across neuroscience, philosophy, evolutionary biology, sociology, history, psychology as well as narrative media and technology to unlock the secrets of love, the conference explores how scientists and storytellers can collaborate to create science programming that fascinates global audiences. We are delighted to announce that Dr. Helen Fischer, Senior Research Fellow at The Kinsey Institute, will deliver the opening keynote.

As a highlight, the SILBERSALZ Science & Media Pitch on the second day offers a platform for international scientists and media professionals to present their latest science projects to an international audience of funders, media experts and science institutions. This innovative pitching forum is currently open to submissions from scientists, science journalists and media professionals looking to develop their concepts into specialist factual content and interactive experiences. Attending the conference are int. broadcasters including ARTE France, VICE Media, ARD networks such as SWR, BR, WDR, RBB, HR, MDR, ZDF, 3sat, NHK, National Geographic, PBS, Curiosity Stream and Wellcome Trust as well as other representatives of renowned science institutions.
