St. Louis, MO, Oct. 23, 2006-Helitech Waterproofing & Structural Repair of Belleville, Ill., has been selected to receive a 2006 TORCH Award from the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois, in recognition of excellent customer satisfaction and ethical business practices. The award will be presented in St. Louis, Mo. on October 3, 2006 to ten local winners and Brown Shoe Company, the winner for national customer satisfaction.

William Courtney, president and CEO of the company, will accept the award. The company was founded in 1996 by Courtney and his partner, Ray Judd, who adopted the A.B. Chance Helitech piering systems to replace mud-jacking. Courtney became majority stockholder of the company in 2002.

That same year, he established a customer service department for the company. He added operations and customer completion checklists to help manage customer expectations. At the conclusion of each job, the foreman or supervisor now walks the customer through the checklist. Courtney also invites customers to write him if they are satisfied or dissatisfied with a job. Compliments to work team members are passed on to those individuals.

Helitech works 25 to 30 jobs per week. Since 2001 the company has enjoyed an annual growth rate of 30%.

Helitech received first place awards in Structural Repair from the Home Builders Association in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. The company also was named Belleville’s Outstanding Company of the Year in 2005.
