Western Digital Showcases The Next Evolution of Storage at 2019 Open Compute Project Global Summit

OpenFlex™ NVMe-over-Fabrics (NVMe-oF™) Flash Storage Platform and Open Composable API: See how Western Digital is delivering a flexible, NVMe composable infrastructure with its standards-based OpenFlex architecture and F3000 NVMe-oF Flash Storage Platform. The OpenFlex product family helps customers disaggregate resources into shared pools enabling on-demand allocation, helping customers achieve higher utilization, as well as achieve up to 40 percent savings in total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to traditional hyper-converged infrastructures (HCIs). As part of the company’s commitment to open architectures, Western Digital will be providing an Open Composable API and mechanical designs of its first Fabric-attached device, OpenFlex F3000, to the OCP Storage Project, which will enable the global community to develop Fabric-attached devices in the OpenFlex F3000 form factor and ensure compatibility with Western Digital’s E3000 enclosure.
