Job Loss From Artificial Intelligence Will Come Sooner Than Expert Predicts

In recent interviews on the CBS show “60 Minutes”, and on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria Bartiromo”, Kai-Fu Lee, global venture capitalist, artificial intelligence expert, and author of the book “AI Superpowers”, predicts that artificial intelligence (AI) could eliminate 40 percent of the world’s jobs within 15 years.
 
Lee says that “AI will increasingly replace repetitive jobs, not just for blue-collar work, but a lot of white-collar work.” Lee continues that the type of jobs that will be lost to AI include many jobs that are routine. This includes even white-collar jobs in customer service and telemarketing that will be automated and displace human workers.
 
DJ Sebastian is the author of a new book, “The Selling Revolution: Prospering in the New World of Artificial Intelligence.” Sebastian agrees with Lee’s prediction that AI will dramatically transform the workforce, but Sebastian warns that “AI’s impact on the sales profession will occur much more quickly and will place millions of sales jobs at risk within three years.”
