Inclusive Arup – an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality
"Our approach covers how we hire, retain, engage, appraise and reward, develop and promote our people."
Arup has again been named as one of Australia’s select ‘Employers of Choice for Gender Equality’ following a review by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).
The WGEA citation recognises Arup’s ongoing commitment to promoting gender equality and detailed programme to improve its workplaces.
Prerequisites for the citation are strengthened year-on-year to drive continued progress: Arup has been assessed positively every year since the WGEA citation was introduced in 2014.
“We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace,” said Peter Chamley, Chair of Arup’s Australasia Region.
Mr Chamley said he was personally committed to gender equality as a WGEA Pay Equity Ambassador and a Consult Australia Male Champion of Change.
WGEA Director Libby Lyons said leading employers such as Arup “know the importance of achieving gender equality for their employees and for their business and are implementing leading-practice measures to do so”.

Some 141 organisations have received the citation this year.
It is awarded following an assessment by WGEA against criteria including leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, employee consultation, preventing sex-based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.
