PETsMART Charities Pet Adoption Kiosk Day in Dallas
DALLAS, TX -- 04/27/2005 --

WHAT:

It may look like a personal ad, but for many homeless pets in local shelters the new PETsMART Charities Adoption Kiosk program is their only lifeline.

In celebration of PETsMART Charities Pet Adoption Kiosk Day in Dallas, a pet-filled unveiling will take place of this new technology designed to help pets in the area find homes.

WHO:

PETsMART Charities, 25 local PETsMART stores, about 25 area animal welfare organizations and humane societies and Pet-Ark (a pet-focused technology company) have joined forces to launch pet adoption kiosks in local shelters, giving all local adoptable pets more exposure to shelter visitors.

Local adoption partner SPCA of Texas-Dallas and adoptable pets will be joined by a representative of Mayor Laura Miller’s office, PETsMART Charities Executive Director Susana Della Maddalena and Pet-Ark kiosk technology entrepreneur Dave Loftus.

WHEN:

Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m.

WHERE:

The PETsMART store located at 12100 Inwood Rd. in Farmers Branch.

WHY:

The Dallas Forth Worth area is home to one of the highest euthanization rates in the country with an average of about 220 abandoned and unwanted pets euthanized each day, more than 80,000 annually.
