Denver Mold and Asbestos Testing Lab Offers Sampling Workshop for Professionals

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is hosting an Industrial Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality and Asbestos Sampling & Analysis Workshop on Wednesday, April 3^rd in Arvada, Colorado. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM followed by training from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, which will be split into two sessions.

The morning session of the workshop will cover various topics related to industrial hygiene (IH). EMSL’s Michael Menz, CIH, CHMM, will dive into traditional industrial hygiene sampling, examining sorbent tubes, passive badges, formaldehyde and respirable dust. This is followed by the discussion of sampling and analysis for silica, PCB and mold.

Following lunch provided by EMSL, the afternoon session will provide detailed information about asbestos. EMSL’s Ed Cahill go over an introduction and background of asbestos, the analysis of building materials by polarized light microscopy (PLM), the gravimetric reduction on problem matrix samples, composition samples for PLM analysis, asbestos in settled dust, (ASTM 5755 and ASTM 6480), Vermiculite, NIOSH 7400 and 7402 and TEM AMERA.
